Northern Italy Trip - Tuesday, September 25th - Part 2

After the tour, we saddled up and made our way to Verona, where we would take a walking tour of the old city before having dinner.

 The Adige River
 Original City Walls

One of the best preserved Roman Amphitheaters.  They still used it to this day.

We wondered through Verona looking at different architectural pieces, on our way to Juliette's Home.

You know what they say,
"If it ain't Baroque . . ."

Juliette's Home. Yes, that Juliette.
Verona is the setting for Shakespeare's
'Romeo & Juliette.'
The balcony from which she called for Romeo.
Juliette.
 I guess it's tradition.

 Then more walking.
Romeo's home is not that popular.

We then made our way to
Castel San Pietro, by way of an
ancient Roman Bridge.

Prior to WW2 coming to Verona, a very dedicated man, took the time to mark each stone in the bridge so it could be rebuilt if it were destroyed.
It was and after the war it was rebuilt.

We took a tram to the top of the Castel.

Just in time to watch the sun set over Verona.

We walked down, past these ancient Roman ruins.

Dinner time!
Guess what I had?

 Donkey
Horse.
Remember those drying grapes on the net?
They make this bottle of golden, deliciousness.
