Morning Walk Around - December 21 & 24, 2017

Wandered around the yard and lake shore again.

 A little coot cutting a V across a rather still lake.

 Blue caught me watching him.

 And took off.

 Mirror lake and palm trees.

 December 24th, Blue was back.

 Good bass fishing.

 Hiding in the grass. You're doing it wrong.

This Morning's Walk Around - Various Things - December 20,2017

Blue was back on his fence.

 The lake was full of diamonds.

 How I know the limpkin is still around. My yard is full of these empty shells.

A blue jay having breakfast.

 I like how he's using the fork of the branch and his feet to hold the nut in place as he pecks at it.

Last Night's Moonset - December 19,2017

It was just a sliver of a waxing moon.

Long exposure made the rest of moon show up. 

Along with a plane or two.

 

Early Morning Lake, Heron and Coot - December 17, 2017

Prior to going to work on this Sunday I noticed the mirror lake.  I went out to get pictures of it and just as I approached the shore, this little heron flew in. As I photographed him, a little coot swam by.

I'm posting the heron first, then the lake.

 I don't get many pictures of coots. They are very skittish and tend to swim out further into the lake  when they see me.
