Challenge Shots - April 30, 2018

The challenge this week was
to shoot in Black & White.

These are the ones I submitted.

These were the others I took.

Forgot to put the camera in B&W for this one,
But the camouflage was nice. This little toad is
about as big as my thumbnail.

First Fire of the 2018 Dry Season and A Sunset - March 13, 2018

About this time every year, we start to see fires pop up out in the Glades, since it is so dry.  The rainy season doesn't usually start until June.  So, this starts to become all to common. Either by careless humans or that one-off passing thundershower with lightning.

Not sure of the cause of this one.
The above is my cell, the rest my camera.

 Self-portrait in sunset and leaves.

Birthday Photagraphy Safari - February 13, 2018

Took the day off for my birthday and decided to get out.
Took off to Highway 27, in the Everglades and then to
 Secret Woods County Park.
Some of the pictures were taken to catch up on different challenges for a photography FB group I'm in.

What set of pictures of the Everglades would be complete with out the requisite shot of an air boat?

The buildings on the left are the Tao Towers Condominiums and the one on the right is the BB&T Center, home of the Florida Panthers Hockey Team.

The second part of my trip begins.
 The irony abounds.

The plaque that shows up in the photos is part of my challenge.
"Portable Subject"

This is probably a fiddler crab.
He's defiantly a blue crab.

We startled each other as I was crossing one of the boardwalks.  He hid underneath. So, I moved on and then quietly made my way back after a minute or two and waited for him to re-appear.  He's catching and eating the little crabs.

This is were the plaque normally resides.  It's a wedding gift from my niece, Shayla.
