I had gone out in the morning, prior to work, to see what I could capture. As I wandered around the little palms in the back yard, something stirred up the water along the bank and I quietly made my way over to see what it was.
A young peacock bass, about a foot long, hunting minnows.
I thought, 'That's cool" and put my camera down only to see my little blue heron walking up on me. I froze where I was, slowly put my camera to my eye and started shooting. He was no more that 15 feet away from me and didn't care or know I was there until I slowly walked away. Even then, he just watched me leave.
My Nat Geo moment.
