Just a diversionary iguana in the tree out my window to move the heron's breakfast down a notch.
I'm just a very, amateur photographer living in South Florida. Most of my photos are taken with a Panasonic DMC-FZ7, but you'll find smart-phone and tablet shots as well. These are pretty much WYSIWYG, as I try to keep editing to a minimum. Yes, I take a LOT of sunsets; but it only stands to reason since my backyard faces south-west. Feel free to leave comments and constructive criticism.

Great Heron - One Cold Hunter
!!! BRUTAL NATURE ALERT !!!
I always knew the Great Heron is an exceptional fisher. Even knew they enjoyed opportunistic meals of little lizards and the like. Never knew they are such cold and methodical hunters.
That all changed this morning when one came swooping into the shallows of the lake outside my window with a baby muscovy duck in it's beak.
What follows is a rather brutal breakfast. It was chilling to document.

Saharan Dust Cloud Sunset
There was a large Saharan Dust Cloud that crossed the Atlantic and moved over Florida, the Gulf of Mexico and into East Texas. Thought I'd visit the "Glades" to see what a sunset might look like with these conditions.
General View
What we think power is, versus what it really is.
Waiting, so grass.
More Grass - Sawgrass
Mamma always told me not to look into the eyes of the sun.
But Mamma,
That's where the fun is.
Sittin' in the clouds in the sky,
Just sinkin' as the world goes by.
Anyone need a wallpaper?
Add a Great Red Spot, and you get Sol's imitation of Jupiter.
Gettin' closer.
These are almost Sci-Fi world worthy.
Almost there.
The moon, beautiful.
The sun, even more beautiful.
Goodnight Sun.
